Regulation for the use of certificates and marks

Conditions for certified organisations on the use of the certificate, the D.A.S. certification mark and the NAH accreditation mark.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

1. Purpose and scope

This regulation sets out the conditions under which organisations certified by D.A.S. Certification Kft. may use the certificate, the D.A.S. certification mark and, where applicable, the NAH accreditation mark, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 (clause 8.3) and the rules of the National Accreditation Authority (NAH). It is part of the certification agreement.

2. Ownership of the certificate

The certificate remains the property of D.A.S. Certification. It is valid for three years, subject to satisfactory annual surveillance audits, is not transferable, and may be displayed only at the certified site(s).

3. Permitted use of the D.A.S. mark

The mark may be used on letterhead, documents, websites, advertising and promotional material, vehicles and buildings, provided it is clear that the certification covers the management system, and only for the certified scope and sites. It may be reproduced in any size, keeping its proportions and colours (or in a single colour).

4. Prohibited use

The mark and any reference to certification must not be used:

  • on products or on primary or secondary packaging;
  • on product labels or product technical documentation;
  • on test or laboratory reports, calibration certificates, inspection or analysis reports;
  • in a way that suggests product or service certification;
  • for activities or sites outside the certified scope;
  • in any misleading way.

5. Statement of certification

Where the mark cannot be used (e.g. on packaging or accompanying information), the organisation may use a statement such as: “Organisation with a quality / environmental / occupational health and safety management system certified to ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 by D.A.S. Certification Kft.”, identifying the organisation, the type of management system and the standard, and D.A.S. Certification as the certification body.

6. Use of the NAH accreditation mark

Only organisations whose certificate carries the NAH accreditation mark may use it. It may be used only together with and adjacent to the D.A.S. mark and never larger or more prominent than it; never alone; never in a way that implies that NAH has certified the organisation, its products or services.

It may be used on letterhead, documents, vehicles, buildings and workwear, but not on products or product technical documentation. Certificates for non-accredited standards never carry the NAH mark.

7. Stickers and stamps

Stickers, stamps or similar applications require a specific procedure approved in advance by D.A.S. Certification.

8. Changes to be reported

The organisation must inform D.A.S. Certification without delay of changes in:

  • legal status, ownership or activities;
  • key managerial staff;
  • addresses and sites;
  • scope of operations;
  • significant changes to the management system.

9. Monitoring

D.A.S. Certification checks the use of the certificate and marks during surveillance and recertification audits and on the basis of reports from third parties.

10. Improper use

Use is improper when:

  • certification has not yet been granted, or has been suspended or withdrawn;
  • it extends to activities or sites outside the scope;
  • it is misleading.
Consequences
Improper use leads to a formal written notice requiring correction within a set deadline; if not corrected, to suspension of certification for up to 6 months and, if still unresolved, to withdrawal. Sanctions may be made public. D.A.S. Certification may also take legal action.

11. Suspension, withdrawal and renunciation

During suspension the organisation must not use the mark or refer to certification.

After withdrawal or renunciation it must stop all use of the certificate and marks, remove all references to certification from documents, websites and advertising, destroy materials bearing the marks and return the certificate.
